He Came to Learn About Fasting and Accepted Islam |Vino a Aprender Sobre el Ayuno y Aceptó el Islam
VEvery Ramadan something special happens at the Center.
People who are not Muslim begin visiting with curiosity, wanting to understand fasting, prayer, and the meaning of this blessed month. Sometimes, they discover something far greater.
This year we met Daniel, a young man who started attending our classes weeks before Ramadan because he wanted to learn how to prepare for fasting. Interestingly, the year before he had already fasted even though he was not yet Muslim.
He didn’t come alone — he brought his older cousin so they could learn together.
During one of the final sessions, Daniel asked a question that changed everything:
“What do you think if I become Muslim?”
Alhamdulillah… he took the shahada.
And he wasn’t the only one:
• On the first day of Ramadan, a sister also embraced Islam.
• A few days earlier, another young woman came to the Center and one of our volunteers helped guide her through the shahada.
This is what makes this community special.
It’s not only imams or teachers guiding others — volunteers also feel empowered to help someone take that step toward Allah.

Cada Ramadán ocurre algo especial en el Centro.
Personas que no son musulmanas comienzan a visitarnos con curiosidad, queriendo entender el ayuno, la oración y el significado de este mes bendito. A veces, descubren algo mucho más grande.
Este año conocimos a Daniel, un joven que comenzó a asistir a nuestras clases semanas antes de Ramadán porque quería aprender cómo prepararse para el ayuno. Lo interesante es que el año anterior ya había ayunado, aunque todavía no era musulmán.
Y no vino solo — trajo a su primo mayor para que ambos aprendieran juntos.
En una de las últimas sesiones, Daniel hizo una pregunta que cambió todo:
“¿Qué piensan si me hago musulmán?”
Alhamdulillah… tomó la shahada.
Y no fue el único:
• El primer día de Ramadán, una hermana también aceptó el Islam.
• Unos días antes, otra joven visitó el Centro y uno de nuestros voluntarios la acompañó en su shahada.
Esto es lo que hace especial a esta comunidad.
No son solo los imames o maestros quienes guían — también los voluntarios ayudan a que más personas den ese paso hacia Allah.
