At a recent Plus One event at River Oaks Islamic Center, we were invited to highlight Latino diversity within the Muslim community. What followed was more than a cultural presentation — it was a moment of da’wah rooted in sincerity and character.

We shared our story as Latino Muslims — our heritage, our challenges, and how faith transformed hardship into purpose. We emphasized something essential: our character, words, and actions are central to how we represent Islam.

By the end of the evening, after heartfelt conversations and questions, one sister accepted Islam. SubhanAllah.

This is what happens when we show up with sincerity and trust Allah with the results.

En un reciente evento Plus One en el River Oaks Islamic Center, fuimos invitados a resaltar la diversidad latina dentro de la comunidad musulmana. Lo que ocurrió fue más que una presentación cultural — fue un momento de da’wah basado en sinceridad y buen carácter.

Compartimos nuestra historia como musulmanes latinos — nuestra herencia, nuestros retos y cómo la fe transformó la dificultad en propósito. Reafirmamos algo esencial: nuestro carácter, palabras y acciones son clave en cómo presentamos el Islam.

Al finalizar la noche, después de conversaciones sinceras y preguntas profundas, una hermana aceptó el Islam. SubhanAllah.

Así es como Allah abre corazones cuando actuamos con sinceridad.
